After the loss of manager Thomas Frank to Tottenham, and strong rumours linking talisman Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United, Brentford are experiencing a turbulent summer. But is there another Bees player who hasn’t received the transfer interest that their performances may have warranted?
Although Mbeumo dominated the headlines throughout the season, strike partner Yoane Wissa did almost as well. He would have ended the season joint top scorer of non-penalty goals in the Premier League, without Mohamed Salah’s late equaliser against Crystal Palace on the final day.

He also outperformed Salah for minutes per non-penalty goal, notching once every 154 minutes over the course of the season. Only Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak scored at a faster rate. Although the latter is three years younger than Wissa, Newcastle valued their Swedish striker at £150 million in January, which indicates that Wissa may be going under the radar.
Nottingham Forest reportedly put in a lowball offer of just £22 million in January that was promptly rejected by Brentford. Forest, or a number of other clubs, may look to attract that goalscorer before the window shuts on September 1st.
